The Cares Act is continuing to provide program letters on the expanded unemployment benefits. This has not been fully implemented across the country and it will be administered by each state’s local benefits programs. Fortunately, Ohio is one of the states that have had an early start on implementing the expanded unemployment benefits that now includes 1099 workers, self-employed, and part-timers.
The benefits will be similar and retroactive to W-2 benefits with the state’s normal allowable benefits plus an additional $600/week for up to 39 weeks.
